Programmes

PWC's programmes focus on three key areas to address the root causes of gender inequality and oppression:

Education

PWC's Education programmes aim to improve education quality and increase school access and retention for Maasai girls.

Economic Empowerment

PWC's Economic Empowerment programmes aim to give Maasai women financial independence, which both breaks the cycle of poverty and elevates them within their families and communities as economic contributors.

Rights & Leadership

PWC's Rights and Leadership programmes aim to educate Maasai women on their legal and human rights and empower them to stand up for their rights and participate in decision-making within their communities.

Key Programme Achievements

74% of girls at ESS achieved a pass grade in the 2020 national examinations

201 students provided scholarships to stay in school​

Ormanie Primary School and Ormanie Health Center built

Deep water boreholes drilled in 18 villages, benefiting thousands of community members and lessening the burden on women who previously walked long distances to fetch water.

 575 functioning savings and loan groups (VICOBA) supported in Longido, Monduli and Ngorongoro

We have 72 active community volunteers or facilitators, and 96 paralegals who support community members to access justice
We have supported 101 young pastoralist women provided life skills, mentorship, literacy skills, basic computer skills and technical training

Thousands of girls rescued from early marriages and supported to access quality eductaion since 2018

250 women in Ngorongoro District secured plots of land from their village governments

Over 250,000 citizens have participated in our interventions
